thunder

i have been in hell for a thousand years, a chiliad of misfortunes, of repentment, one minute for every sin that has been placed on my back, weighing leaden like the world. i have seen the countless ways one can stray from the light, die with no option for rebirth, no salvation laying dead in my arms. i have seen the days when we knew there was no love at all, just thunderstorm, crying winds. there is no holiness today, not anymore, no. only you, me, and the electrifying thought, the devastating earthquake, that today there is no heaven, no light, just dead bodies buried in the ground, in my arms, away from the light.
